Keen was selected to complete design, procurement, construction, and startup services for this project. The Collins site boasts an unloading speed of 40,000 bushels per hour (BPH). In addition to best-in-class speed, the site encompasses Landus’ vision for improved customer experience and safety for decades to come.
The construction team collected insights and ideas from internal and external experts to glean the best ways to engineer receiving pits, dust collection, aeration systems, and load-out. Keen overcame many challenges to deliver this time-sensitive project by harvest which included:
- 7,000 bushel per hour dryer
- 2 MM bushels of upright storage
- 3 Scales (1 Inbound + 2 Outbound)
- Two Pits, 40,000 bushels per hour receiving capacity
- Two 20,000 Bushel receiving legs
- 15,000 bushel per hour wet leg
This project also included extensive automation and significant dust control in the receiving area to increase the customer experience. All of this required a timely and quality installation by Keen.
This site was recognized by the Associated Builders and Contractors of Iowa Excellences in Construction Awards. Keen received project Distinction in the industrial over $10MM category.
This site was featured for the Midwest Regional GEAPS Summer Convention as a tour site.
